[Recipe] – Kale-Bacon-Brussels Sprouts – Carb – Often

As much as I hate to admit, the last few kale bunches that I have brought home ended up lounging in the refrigerator for a week and then ending up in the compost. Ever since a biter kale chip experiment a few years ago I haven’t been able to get them into the routine.

When I saw this recipe over at Mary Vance’s site, I think that I am ready to try them again. Should it be a surprise that the recipe includes bacon, or a cast iron frying pan? (We just got a new one a couple of weeks ago, and I have been looking for any excuse to be putting things into it).

We generally bake the brussels and bacon in the oven, so this will be a whole new way to enjoy foods that we already love, before we get tired of eating them the same “old way”. It will also be a good training wheels for me to try to bring kale into the family.
